If you’d like to transfer a domain from one domain registrar to another, you’ll need to pass through several safety procedures. One of them is obtaining a special EPP code from the current domain registrar – provided that you are the registrant, since the code is emailed to the domain owner’s email account and no one else can get it. You need to give this code to the new domain registrar, otherwise they won’t be able to start the domain name transfer procedure. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may contain digits or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily miswritten, so make sure you copy and paste the right code. As an additional protection measure, the transfer code for a domain may be changed regularly. Some companies refer to this code as a domain secret, a domain password or an Auth key as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting

In case you’ve got a Linux cloud hosting, you’ve registered a domain name with us and you want to transfer it away from us, you can get its EPP authentication code with no more than a few mouse clicks. When you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel and visit the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all the domains that you have registered through us listed in alphabetical order. On the right-hand side of each domain name, you’ll notice a mini EPP icon for all domain extensions that require a code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking the icon will send the code to the domain name registrant’s email address straight away. In the exact same section you can also see and eventually modify the email, if the one there isn’t valid anymore.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

In case you have a semi-dedicated server account with us and you’ve registered a domain name that you would like to transfer, you can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code amazingly easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage both your domain names and your account. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you will find an EPP sign to the right of your domain names, on the condition that their extensions support transfers between domain name registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to ensure that only the owner of the domain can obtain this information. In case the currently entered email address is not valid any longer, you can edit it with a couple of clicks of the mouse without the need to leave this Control Panel section. The change is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP code for the specific domain straight away.
